Ray struggles through TCM
Weekend in Minneapolis, MN.
Marathon Man joined 14 other Rebel Runners on a 4 day trip to Minnesota to run “TCM” on 10/2/05.
We were expecting good race conditions (upper 40’s at the start with a high around 60 for the day). Instead, race day would be a challenge, with high humidity, near 70 at the start, and some breezy areas. As the St. Paul Pioneer Press noted, it became a “Battle of Attrition”!

Rebels Go Bananas in Minnesota

Most of our group carpooled to the airport and flew out of Philadelphia on Thursday evening, with a return flight set for Monday morning. We’d have a total of 11 runners and 5 support staff, led by “The General”. You can read the General’s account of our adventure at the Rebel Runners of Delaware site.
Men’s and Women’s winners posted some of the slowest winning times in the event’s 24 year history. Joan Benoit Samuelson joined us and ran a good race.

Marathon Man posted a chip time of 3:20:04, which was just 17 seconds off his personal record time!!! He left everything on the course and was thrilled to finish in the top 10% of his age group.
